About

A tool built out of frustration with our own spreadsheet

TaxFair.net is a small, independently run project focused on one narrow job: helping people in Pakistan see, in plain rupees, what they owe FBR before the filing deadline surprises them.

The first version of this wasn't a website at all. It was a shared spreadsheet three of us used to track freelance income and business expenses through the year, because doing it all in September from memory and bank statements never worked. Every year the formulas broke, someone overwrote someone else's row, and the tax slab calculations needed manual updates whenever FBR revised the brackets.

TaxFair.net is that spreadsheet rebuilt properly — a private ledger where you log income, expenses, tax already paid, and assets/liabilities as the year goes, and it works out your estimated tax liability and wealth reconciliation automatically, using the current FBR slab structure.

What the tool actually does

What it isn't

Important: TaxFair.net is a personal planning and estimation tool. It is not connected to FBR's IRIS system, does not file returns on your behalf, and is not a substitute for advice from a registered tax practitioner. Every figure it shows is only as accurate as what you enter.

We built it for people who want a running, honest picture of their tax position through the year — freelancers, small business owners, and salaried individuals with side income — not as a replacement for the actual filing process or for professional advice on anything beyond straightforward cases.

Privacy, briefly

Your ledger data belongs to you. PINs are stored as bcrypt hashes that even we can't reverse. Full detail is on the Privacy Policy page.
